A Merry Little Christmas

We had ourselves a Merry Little Christmas this year.

We were asked by the government to stay home the next few weeks and the air quality was horrendous, so we spent a lot of family time indoors watching Christmas movies, and playing board games & video games.

Isn't she the cutest?
Daisy and Eli both wrote notes for Santa; one was by the cookies and one on the milk glass in the fridge. I will let you decide who wrote which.
I guess they are on the good boys and girls list.
We played a new game this year called pakkeleg. Our Danish friends taught us. I gave each kid a little cash and we went shopping earlier in the week. We went to a 4-story store (sorta like a Dollar Tree) to shop individually and kept our gifts secret from each other. Secret shopping was a blast. We wrapped them in private when we got home so no one knew what the others got.
To play the game, you take turns rolling the dice. You get to pick a gift when you roll a 6. After all the gifts were gone, we set a timer and when a 6 was rolled, you got to steal someone else's gift. It was a lot of fun and the kids were all sweet to each other; if someone had a lot of gifts they offered theirs up when somebody got to steal. Eli and Daisy both wanted to keep on of the gifts that they bought no one stole that one. There was no fighting, no tears, just fun and laughter.
Daisy got the show stopper. Eli had ₩1,000 left when he checked out so he grabbed a small package of toilet paper.
Eli also bought this snow globe, hoping he would be the recipient.
Zekers got some party glasses which double as a straw.
We enjoyed our DanFam5 merry little Christmas.
And to all a good night.

Shining Bright On My Birthday

Number 51 was on the DL. After a long walk with the doggies I had lunch with the three people I created. They were as excited to give me my gift as I was to get it.

They all went in together, but my girl was in charge.
We had Pizza Hut for dinner because no one wants to cook on their birthday and the kids and I have the taste buds of a 5 year old.
After dinner I had an 'appointment' at the Shining Clinic. Daisy is very thoughtful when it comes to making others feel special.
I was shown to my own private room, because, Covid.
I received a spa treatment for my feet including a warm bath and foot rub, and afterwards I got a full body message.
After my appointment we enjoyed some birthday brownie. It was a great day with my favorite people.

Getting Holly and Jolly

The holiday season was getting us in the holly and jolly spirit. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Santa, and his helper full of cheer.

Santa brought our gifts right to our door this year since the LM Christmas party was cancelled, because, Covid. The kids still enjoyed their gifts, regardless of a party or not.
We got holly and jolly with some good ole fashioned ornament making with friends. We made the dough, rolled it out and cut out the ornaments and cooked them in the oven.
Then the creativity began.
The mommas even got our art-on.
As the entire room (sans the Danish, who have not heard of it) were belting out the chorus to Sweet Caroline, we realized we may have bent a few covid suggestions, like a gathering of more than a few, eating together, no masks, and then topping it off with singing. Oops.
Despite breaking some Covid rules, we now have decorations to remind us of our time here in Korea.
We're babysitting Waffles for a few weeks. The doggies got holly and jolly, too.
These three melted this momma's heart as they embraced their holly and jolly as they played and laughed together for hours.
Continuing with our holly jolly theme, we made some sugar cookies.
Things started out great.
...Until we added the frosting.
It turned into an episode of Nailed It.
Daisy had a great idea of marbling it to look like we meant creativity.
As hideous as they were, they still disappeared in record time.
Through all the holly and jolly, we still remember the reason for the season.
