Potty Humor

Daisy has been an absolute champ at potty training. (We're not done yet, but heading that way.) And since everyone loves a little potty humor, I thought I'd share. When she was going potty today I got a little too close. "Stay away," she warned as she put her hand up. "I'm droppin' turds."

Perspective

Last night I noticed the towel rack pulling from the wall and mentioned it to Abe. He told Zeke that was a man's job and they needed to fix it. First they assessed the situation to see what tools they would need, then proceeded to the garage to get them. A few minutes later Zekers zipped past me into the bathroom with the screwdrivers in his hands squealing, "This is going to be fun!" If only everyone had the excitement and enthusiasm of a four year old, the world we be such a joyful place.

Big Family Vacay

Usually for extended family vacation, I drive to KS, Sister drives to KS, Steve drives 1/2 mile down the road and we all meet at Mom & Dad's. We decided to meet in the middle this year. We had 2 grandparents, 6 parents, 8 kids (counting the one that's negative 7 months), 2 dogs and a hamster. The Hoard family took Eureka Springs, Arkansas by storm! We went fishing,

saw the Big Cat Refuge,

explored Cosmos Cave,

made s'mores,

lit daytime fireworks,

lit nighttime fireworks,

watched nighttime fireworks,

(some watched more intently that others),

did sparklers,

(some were less enthusiastic than others),

told ghost stories,

and had a great time!

Ya'll come back now, ya hear?!

Get In My Belly!

We have been on a 'family diet' for 7 days now. Zeke has eczema which he scratches in spots until he breaks the skin. After some blood work, in addition to nuts (which we knew) Zekers came down w/ allergies to the following: wheat, milk, soy, corn, egg whites and sesame seeds. I don't know if you have read any labels recently, but one if not most of those ingredients is in about everything that is packaged. The doctor wants us to give up all that stuff for 2 weeks to see if his itchy eczema stops, then gradually add them back one at a time. I was ready to kill with my bare hands for something to eat other than plain meat and veg, so when Daisy and I had the afternoon to ourselves yesterday, the first thing we did was run to the DQ. Ice cream with chocolate, caramel and nuts...mmmmmm. When we found out Zeke was going to be at Granny's a little later than expected, we hauled a** to the nearest Italian restaurant. Calzone with lots and lots of cheesy goodness...mmmm. I treasured every calorie.

P.S. When I am feeling really naughty, I sneak a piece of whole wheat toast with butter when Zeke isn't looking.
