Winter Exploring - Sangjogam County Park

Another beautiful day to explore with Chuey. I have been wanting to walk along the shore in 상족암 Sangjogam Park, where there are over 3,000 dinosaur prints.
We got up to the boardwalk, where the prints start, when we saw the sign. No pets allowed.
So we turned around and walked the other direction.
These rocks are called columnar joints. They are formed when hot magma cools and contracts. Regular shrinkage cracks produce long hexagonal-sided columns, perpendicular to the cooling surface. Sometimes they are nicknamed folding screen rocks.
Koreans really encourage being outdoors and hiking, so they create things like this little observation deck.
Across the bay, where we wanted to walk, are the dino prints and the dinosaur museum. You can see the large brontosaurus statue facing the building.
This is the view looking out toward the ocean. I think that island is Saryangdo.
No one was out there with us, so Chuey got to explore sans leash.
We climbed below the bridge along the shore.
In my mind, rocks formed by lava look like the surface of the moon. I know pictures from the 1969 moon landing show it being dusty, but my mind says otherwise.
We went off-trail on the way back and came across this family grave site. This family obviously has some money.
Here is the view they chose for their loved ones.
Most family plots are much more simple, like this one.
When Chuey walks without a leash she will wander off the path for a short bit. But she does NOT want to be left behind!
Look how someone placed these cool shells on the rocks. The neat thing is that everyone just leaves them there for others to enjoy.
