College BEFORE High School?!?

Our Zekers graduated with an Associates Degree from Tarrant County Community College before he graduated high school!
Last year Zeke began taking Dual Credit classes from TCC and On Ramps classes from the University of Texas. He completed 60 hours in just two years. If you do the math, that's just 15 credit hours a semester average, which is not such a huge accomplishment.
When college kids take 15 credit hours a semester, they are in class about 3 hours a day. Not only was this boy in class the entire day, while taking additional high school elective courses, but he did extra-curricular activities on top of that. Zeke was usually at school about 10 hours a day, plus some Friday nights and Saturdays. That doesn't include time for homework and projects. So yeah, he was a bit busy. And yeah, I'm a bit proud of him and his tenacity to push through.
Only once, near the end, did he verbalize to us that he wondered if he should just drop a class and forget about his associates. I suggested that he might be disappointed if he quit when he was this close to accomplishing his goal, but it was up to him.
He persevered, and in the end he was glad that he did.
I filmed 18 minutes of Pomp & Circumstance as we eagerly looked for Zeke walking in. We never found him. Once I reviewed my super long video, we found him. The woman in front of us stood up at exactly the same time that Zeke walked in.
The stage was pretty far away, so I captured his big moment on the jumbotron.

His high school advisor told him he could just walk out as soon has he crossed the stage, and that's exactly what he did.
Associate Degree of Art, in hand.
We're all proud of our Zekers.

Zeke does not like to make a big deal of himself, so we just had a DanFam5 celebratory dinner.
But don't be fooled. He is a big deal.
