Jealousy Jane And The Haunted House

Jealousy Jane, starring Oscar Wild, best friend.

I stumbled across a couple pics on social media from practice in the weeks prior to the show.

They performed 2 shows back to back. This is both casts.

Zeke's English teacher from last year provided breakfast for the kids one Saturday morning rehearsal. It's reasons like this that made her teacher of the year last year.

In Zeke's production, Jane couldn't figure out why the play was called 'Jealousy Jane' because she informed the audience that she was not jealous at all.

Her best friend, sister and boyfriend gently tried to point out that maybe she did, in fact, have a bit of a jealous side.

{read with a Russian accent:} "I will use my brain to produce beautiful love poem in her honor."

"Ladies and gentlemen, step right up!"

The jealousy monster was taking over and all Jane could see was red.

"Me! Me! Me! Pick me!"

This is not acting here. I get these looks often.

The jealousy monster finally came out of hiding.

"Yay! We locked the monster in a lunchbox that was sitting on the edge of the set!"

"The moral of the story is to always leave a rando lunch box on the set."

Time for bows.

Mr. Mata might favor Zeke a tad bit.

Daisy attended the Saturday show with us but somehow missed the picture.

On Sunday Jason and DiDi came to show their support.

After the show on Saturday Zeke and Daisy flexed their dramatic muscles some more as they scared the WHHS community in the annual band haunted house. Zeke was part of the Salem Witch Trial,

while Daisy was in the Anxiety Room. If you know Daisy, you know the Anxiety Room is quite appropriate for her.

The band has a great time while making a little bit of money. Win/win.

Where The Buffalo Roam And The Deer And The Antelope Play

One Saturday morning church organized a family hike at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. 

I say family hike, but only three members of our family attended. That would be me, Abe and Chuey. First of all, it was Saturday morning and second of all, it was hiking.

Back in 1964 the FW park board wanted to create a wildlife sanctuary and nature preserve for the community; thus the birth of the FW Nature Center & Refuge.

Bison have roamed the Nature Center for nearly 50 years. The herd began in 1973 with a donation of three bison from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The first bison calf was born in 1974; now the herd consists of four young bulls and 16 cows, two of which were born this year.

The Nature Center is comprised of more than 3,650 acres of forests, prairies and wetlands. The goal is allow you to step back in time and experience what Fort Worth was like in the early 20th century.

This park is one of the largest city-owned nature centers in the US with over 20 miles of hiking trails.

We spotted bison, turkey, guinea, and deer.

Wetland marshes are sometimes referred to as the kidneys of the world because they capture and filter harmful pollutants while supporting many fish and wildlife species.

Chuey was happy to be on the trail again.

Bring On The Knives

 It's that time of year when the kids get out the knives and unwieldily stab them into hard pumpkin shells.

We somehow found a night that everyone was home that was not too far from Halloween.

After forced posing, including Chuey, too, they were off!

Daisy hates touching the pumpkin guts.

Eli was done first. He just free-handed it and designed as he went.

That's a mustache, not a mouth.

Zekers made something that resembled 도꺠비 dokkaebi. (That was the name of the house the kids were members of at Gyeongnam International Foreign School.) You can take the Daniels out of Korea, but you can't take Korea out of the Daniels. 😊 🇰🇷

The Daiser wanted to give up, but she persevered.
