Yee Haw, It's A Double Date!

The final day of the FW Stock Show and Rodeo was free to enter and it was a beautiful day. The little boy didn't want to come, so Abe and I had a double date with Daisy and James.
Although it was free, somehow we still ended up spending $100. 🙀
Cows were selling for something crazy like $1500 a head, but there were like 10 cows in each group. Lots of $$$ flowing at the Stock Show, not even counting our $100 in snacks and rides.
We had to try some carni food. The fried Snickers sounded a lot better than it tasted.
Daisy and James went on this ride.
All I could think about was nuts and bolts coming loose as they went round and round.
We had a couple tokens left over so James threw a baseball and won Daisy a prize.
I didn't call it a double date until we were home. Not sure Daisy would have went if I said that before we left. 😆

A Day For Family Love

It's getting harder to get everyone together at one time, so our Valentine's Day of Family Love was pushed back a week this year. But we got 'er done.

We topped off dinner with a game and dessert.
Forbidden Island is a group strategy game and we beat the flood.
I made Grandma White's Polka-Dot Nut Drops, per Zeke's request. Her claim to fame is that she was the first to come up with M&M cookies. In the 50s she sent the recipe to American Woman magazine, where she won some sort of contest. The next month M&M had a full page ad featuring the recipe. Of course we substituted the nut part, but they were yummy!
PS Happy Birthday
