Here are our first few days of South Korea.
The first thing we noticed different was the slippers at the door. No shoes inside. Ever.
Here is our view out of our hotel window. Mountains! Water park!
Here is the view out of the stairwell. Those buildings on the right are our apartments.
Soo was our transition lady. She took us around the first few days to go furniture shopping and do some official business. She took us to get pizza the first day. Here was the first sign we saw. Much to our relief we could get just pepperoni.
If you know my Lijee, you know he loves his sticks (remember a few posts back?). When we were furniture shopping he disappeared for a few minutes. We found him gazing in awe at this lamp.
Soo took us to eat at a mall on our second day out with her. She made us order ourselves. We learned to take a picture of what we wanted to show the people behind the counter, just to make sure we ordered what we thought we were ordering.
We discovered that grocery stores have fish tanks where you pick out your meal to take home. Notice there are eels in the bottom tank.
Sunday morning came and we already had an English speaking church to attend!
This unique piece is located in our complex. Abe said if you're wondering if this is the right turn for our apartment, the answer is, "Funk yeah!"
When moving to a new city and/or country, the smallest things are successes. I drove the kids and I to our apartment from the hotel!
Abe and I are hoping to get some quality family time while we are here.
One day we played at the waterpark in the hotel. It was weird. The middle of July and there was no water. Then one day they filled it so we jumped in. The next day the water was drained. They do that often with water features. I guess they do not use chlorine so they drain it often and fill it sporadically.
We had fun trying to get all of us on that big unicorn floatie. Even the lifeguards were laughing at us.
One evening we enjoyed a family walk through the rice paddies right behind the hotel.
Umm...somebody farted. Seriously.
We came across this in the edge of the rice paddy. I'm pretty sure it's a headstone. Sometimes you randomly see them, usually on the mountain tops.
Loving our new scenery!
