Saturday family hike day!
We tried something new this time. It was very remote, so we let the dogs off their leashes. Honestly we were a little worried about Chuey, but she pleasantly surprised us. Both dogs were having so much fun running and being free. At one point on the way up Frito barked a bit and disappeared into the woods. We continued hiking up and called her as we went. She showed up about 5 minutes later. What a view at the top!
There was a large rock to climb on to get a great view.
It was kinda tricky to get to so Frito didn't make it up to the top of the rock for the picture.
About 2/3 of the way down, around the same spot as on the way up, the same thing happened. Frito got wind of a scent and like the great Houdini, she disappeared. Zeke really thought we should stop until we got Frito back, but Abe and I kept going, thinking she would join us again like she did on the way up.
She did not. We got all the way to the bottom and still no Frito. I walked a little way back up and was calling, calling, calling for her. No luck. We started the car and honked, thinking that would get her attention. Nothing. Abe and Zeke went back up. Daisy, Eli, Chuey and I took a couple pictures whilst we were waiting.
I'm not sure, but somehow Abe found her way back in the woods. She had treed a cat and was absolutely not moving from her spot. He had to pick her up (she's 50 pounds) and physically carry her away from the tree.
That will probably be the one and only time Frito gets to run free in Korea.
This is the rock that we hiked to. It looks tiny from down on the road.
