We had ourselves a Merry Little Christmas this year.
We were asked by the government to stay home the next few weeks and the air quality was horrendous, so we spent a lot of family time indoors watching Christmas movies, and playing board games & video games.
Isn't she the cutest?
Daisy and Eli both wrote notes for Santa; one was by the cookies and one on the milk glass in the fridge. I will let you decide who wrote which.
I guess they are on the good boys and girls list.
[December 25]We played a new game this year called pakkeleg. Our Danish friends taught us. I gave each kid a little cash and we went shopping earlier in the week. We went to a 4-story store (sorta like a Dollar Tree) to shop individually and kept our gifts secret from each other. Secret shopping was a blast. We wrapped them in private when we got home so no one knew what the others got.
To play the game, you take turns rolling the dice. You get to pick a gift when you roll a 6. After all the gifts were gone, we set a timer and when a 6 was rolled, you got to steal someone else's gift. It was a lot of fun and the kids were all sweet to each other; if someone had a lot of gifts they offered theirs up when somebody got to steal. Eli and Daisy both wanted to keep on of the gifts that they bought no one stole that one. There was no fighting, no tears, just fun and laughter.
