We celebrated Easter with a bit of normalcy this year. It was lovely.
First thing in the (late) morning, because teens sleep in, we discovered that the Easter Bunny remembered we were still living in SoKo.
Instead of just giving an Easter basket, I made puzzle pieces with very zoomed in pictures of where the gifts were hidden. I told the kids they had to 'look closely' (that was a pun because the picture clues were so zoomed in).
Mommy was tricky and I had to give a few hints, but they eventually sussed it out and found the gifts.
A few of us organized an egg hunt for the expat kids. The big kids did a scavenger hunt. I made the clues, Daisy and I colored them, and Abe and I placed them around the apartment complex and outside school.
I divided the kids into groups and started them at different times. We saw the first group from our apartment window. It was fun watching the kids excitedly run from clue to clue.

The middle/high school group went last. I had strategically placed the clues where they would have to be searched for once they knew the general area, but the people before kept moving the clues to obvious places. So the big kids just walked from clue to clue with no challenge.😤
The clues led to Mrs. Sandy's apartment. She is the music teacher at school so all the kids know her.One of the moms made cupcakes for the kids.
A group of moms stuffed the eggs and made the cutest bags.
We have a couple artists in the group. Just look at how cute these bags were.
The parents of the younger kids walked with them as the kids ran from clue to clue. After the hunt we hung around outside and talked, just like pre-covid! We have been limited by the government to small groups for over a year, so it was nice to be around a group.
Later that afternoon we joined another smaller Easter gathering. At least it started as small, but people like me kept getting added in. Once again, it was wonderful to be with a group of people. It was a very diverse expat group, with people from Iran, China, Korea, the US, the Philippines, and Belgium. We had snacks, corn hole, hammocks, and Chuey (she was a hit with the little girls, and of course she loved all the attention).
We had an egg hunt for the kids.Once the kids were finished, we had an 'egg' hunt for the adults. These two hid the treasures for us.
Just like the kids started, we all lined up and ran when they told us to go!
