Checked something off the list today. We had a free day because it was election day. I had been wanting to go to the Y-shaped Suspension Bridge in 거창 Geochang. Geochang is located at the center of three national parks, sitting at the bottom of 우두산 Udusan Mountain.
Perched at the base is this little bird family. They are looking for the healing land. This area is known as an anti-aging healing park. The healing forest is said to emit phytoncides, and the clean water that flows through emits negative ions which are said to calm the mind and body. Their words, not mine.
This was our first view of the bridge. Look closely between the trees and you can see it.
We walked about a kilometer of steps to get there.
This little dog was happy to be with us.
Chuey loved climbing the steps, but she's not so sure about the bridge.
This is an areal view of the bridge taken from a sign at the top. You can see the bridge in the middle of the picture at the bottom. It's a good view of the national parks that surround the area.
This is the first suspension bridge in Korea with the Y-construction method without piers. The total length is 190m, with the legs measuring 45m, 40m and 24m.
There's Daisy, Zeke and Chuey looking over the edge.
