Kate and I went on a recon visit to Baegun Valley Falls because we had never been and wanted to check it out before the whole gang went. The stream by the parking lot was not promising, but we started the easy trek up.
It wasn't long before we started seeing more water falling over the rocks.
The water would cascade over the rocks into a pool. Then you would turn downstream and it was peaceful.
We peaked over the edge and saw what looked like a deep pool, so we decided that looked like a good place to stop.
The water was so clear. It was also very cold and refreshing.
Baegun Mountain is the origin of the river that flows through the valley. The Beagun Valley is 4km long and has over 20 falls and pools. The well-known Confucian scholar Nammyeong Jo Sik was known to frequent the Baegun Valley.
Daisy and Kate went downstream a bit, but there was a small cliff to descend and I couldn't carry the doggies down there.

I read that the letters 'yeongnamjeilcheonsok' are carved in a rock somewhere along the valley. This might be it? I have no idea what yeongnamjeilcheonsok means, but I might have found the carving. These are Chinese letters so I can't read it.
"Bombs away!" Splash! Eli and Nic were finding rocks to throw down into the pool.
Then they fished them out,
and tried to dam up the stream.
The Daiser and I went exploring up the creek a bit.

This was like one huge rock that the water flowed over.
