Sand + Sun! - Sangju Silver Sand Beach, Namhae

Summer sand goes great with summer sun!
We traversed the hour long, beautiful drive to 상주은모래비치 Sanju Silver Sand Beach on Namhae, Korea's 5th largest island. We spent the day with the Gludsteds. The 4-person rule is in effect again, because, Covid, so we sat under different umbrellas. Therefore I didn't get any pictures with them.
Zekers enjoyed the swing.
That's Lijee on the float.
And that's Daisy's nostrils.

Same view. Different Day.
Since it is H•O•T and H•U•M•I•D here, we went to the beach again a week later.
It is a popular beach with over a million visitors a year. Apparently professional athletes come here for physical training during the winter. I guess they run and do workouts along the 2 km of sand.
You can see 금산 Geumsan Mountain behind the beach. It's very pretty when you are in the water and look back at the shore with the mountain as a backdrop. The nearby mountains also protect the beach from strong winds.
Namhae is Korea's 5th largest island. It is surrounded by 76 smaller islands. I think that island on the left is called 목도 Mokdo Island. The area is nicknamed 다도해 Dadohae, which means 'sea of islands.' The entire area is part of the
한려해상국립공원 Hallyeohaesang National Park, which is 120km of shoreline from Yeosu on the west to Goeje on the east, with Namhae and Sacheon in the middle.
We stopped at the German Village for a late lunch on the way home.
German Village was built to welcome home the Koreans who had made a living in Germany for several years as part of an agreement between the two countries in the 1960s. It mostly consists of restaurants and homes/pensions that resemble German construction. Plus it boasts a beautiful view of the
몰건항 Mulgeonhang Port.
