We often see rafters on the Gyeongho River as we are driving on highway 3. I wasn't sure about the river level, but the timing was right for us so we made reservations. Once we arrived, the bigs realized they had rafted here their first year at GIFS. You know, back when they could still go on field trips, because, Covid.
Lijee was our model when the guide showed us the safety measures.
[August 6]We were off! The shop was right across the street from the river, so we just carried the boat down to the water.
The river runs 32km and empties into Jinyangho Lake in Jinju.
We thought we would go white water rafting...it was more of a float the river kind of day due to the low water. A beautiful view, nonetheless.
Under this bridge was our first of two 'white water' experiences.
...And then it got calm again.
We had a second bit of slightly turbulent water.
Because it was so calm we got to play some games. For the first game two people stood on the edge of the boat and tried to push the other one off. Daddy pushed me, but I pulled him in with me as I went down.
Next Daisy and Eli went at it.
They both went in, too.
The next game was standing as long as you could while the rest of us paddled in a spinning circle.
We counted how long the person was able to stand. Me and The Pops think I clearly won, but the kids said I counted faster for myself.
