The two bigs have been telling me for a while now that they can't see clearly. Today was the day that I decided to do something about it. My friend Linda made arrangements to see a local optometrist when the English-speaking doctor was there. We tagged along without an appointment.
First up was Zeke. After about 10 minutes the doctor explained to me that Zeke's eyes were a little bad, and he suggested glasses to wear at school, watching TV, etc., but he would not have to wear them all the time. He tried out some lenses to check the prescription.
Next was Daisy's turn. She was hesitant about going because she didn't want to get glasses. After another quick evaluation, the doctor said her eyes were worse than Zeke's and she needs to wear them all the time. Bless her heart, she teared up at the news. The doctor was kind and assured her, "It's not bad. Don't cry."

Y'all. Without an appointment, both kids were in and out within 30 minutes, and the majority of that time was picking frames. The cost will blow your mind. Two evaluations, two sets of frames and two sets of lenses: W80,000 (less than $70). That's not for each, but total. 😲 On top of that, the lenses were ready in 15 minutes.
