The Little Drummer Boy{s}

There was literally standing room only at Eli's winter concert, but it worked out for us. Percussionists are in the back and we often can't even see the boys. Since we were standing in the hall anyway, be snuck back behind the stage so we could see Lijee play.
Zekers came with us to watch his little brother perform.
Then a couple nights later, Lijee went with us to watch his big brother perform.
When Zeke arrived, the beginning band teacher grabbed him and sweetly asked him to step in and sight read the songs with that group because one of their drummers didn't show up. I was going to give him a hard time for not telling me he was playing for both the ‘jv’ band and the ‘varsity’ band, but apparently he had no idea he would be doing both.
During the ‘varsity’ performance the percussion section was featured in a cool song where they played body drums.
All five of us in the same place on a school night. It’s a Christmas miracle!

Oh Christmas Tree

Decorating for Christmas has always been such a fun day for us. Unfortunately, as the kids are older they keep getting busier. I barely found an afternoon to get the tree up with all three of them, but I got it in.
I bought a new tree last year after the season, so it was exciting getting it out to see what it was going to be like. Pretty good for 75% off!

The boys found a game they hadn't played in a long time so they decided to play in the middle of tree decorating.
In all the busyness, don't forget the birth of our Savior as the most important thing.
My poor little doggy hates her Santa 'fit, but I still make her pose.
I had to do the outside without the kids' help because they were never home or not busy.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Tgiving

Thanksgiving weekend landed DanFam5 in God's country.

I decided to take advantage of the open outdoors and try a few senior pictures. Obviously I am not a professional and we will need to schedule with a professional. But I gave it the ole college try.
My boys, flexing.
These two have a special bond.

Kansas always has some of the best sunsets.
We had all three girls, Gary & Linda and family, and Sam's parents for Thanksgiving dinner.
Cousins.
Grandma and Grandpa with several grandkids and a couple great-grandkids.
Friday night Abe, Daisy and I joined April, Reika and Stevie in Clay Center for their Christmas light parade. It was cold.
There were lots and lots of small trees around the court house. People sponsored each tree. This one was a memory tree for people to hang ornaments in memory of loved ones.
Although cold, it was just what we needed to get us in the Christmas spirit!
