Zekers wrapped up another winter guard season.
Their group grew by several members this year, which was good. But they were brand new, so it was more of a growth year, so not so good for an outgoing senior. But they continued to improve with each performance, which is all you can ask for.Since Abe and I were attending anyway, we always volunteered to help the floor crew. Each team performing has about three minutes to lay their floor right before the show and pick it up as soon as they're done. There are cues taped to the floor so each team needs their own individualized floor. It is huge and very heavy considering it's just a tarp. There is Zeke in the corner of the picture.
After the performance it's quickly and sloppily picked up and carried to a different area. They it is layed out flat and folded again nicely. There is Abe doing his fair share of the lifting.
Senior day they had some fun head gear.
Zeke, Dom and A'Leena were a team for the solo and ensemble contest, along with a few others who did their own thing,
The three of them choreographed it themselves.
Zeke tried to teach me how to throw and catch the flag. It was hard! And it hurt when the pole hit your hand! Rifles are even harder to catch and throw and hurt even more when you miss.
