Kansas Plains - Hwangmaesan

Silver grass is not bright and showy like the fall leaves, but it is beautiful in its own right.
Hwangmaesan is the same mountain that paints the hills bright pink in the spring with azaleas.
At 1113m above sea level, 황매 Hwangmae Plain sits at the top of Hwangmaesan Mountain. This makes Hwangmaesan quite different than other Korean mountains, which are mostly covered in dense trees.

I read that this null is a naturally created plain because cows were once raised on these grounds. I'm not sure how that would clear all the trees, but something sure did. If you ignore the mountains in the background, it looks a lot like the fields in Kansas.
The hillside is covered in azaleas in the spring. All the brown in the bottom of this picture is a beautiful pink in May.

The grass was reflecting the sun while it gently flowed in the breeze.
