Next! - Yi Sun-Sin Park and Dongpirang Mural Village, Tyongyeong

Hydrangeas are up next in the flower line up, so we went to Yi Sun-Sin Park in Tyongyeong to find some.
Nic, Eli and Julius
Daisy and Astrid
Kate, Trish, Caroline and Lotte
The girls were keeping their social statuses up-to-date.
Lamp posts in Korea are themed to match the city. This one is Yi Su-Sin themed to match the park.
After the park we found a nearby hamburger joint. It was a little tricky to find because it was up above the street in a little winding alley.
What we did not realize was that it was in the Dongpirang Mural Village. I noticed a few groups of people taking a picture around the corner. When we finished eating we wandered over to see this wonderful site that was attracting so much attention. It was this. Just a few letters that don't spell anything. I asked someone about it. He said that is the name of this part of town. It is more like initials, but it sparked our interest.
We continued to wander through the little alleys.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover it is much like a miniature Gamcheon Cultural Village. The village is located on top of a hill, with tiny little labyrinth-type alleys with painted walls, coffee shops, boutiques, and an overall artsy, unique feeling.
Much like Gamcheon, in an effort to revitalize the village in 2007, the city invited people from all over the nation to come paint murals on the walls.

This is a manhole cover.
Gamcheon has birds perching on tops of buildings, too. These are not as disturbing as the ones in Gamcheon because those have people heads on bird bodies.
Gangguan Port
The Little Prince and the Fennel Fox
Even if you don't know what hwajongsil means, I think you can make a pretty good guess.
We found an ajuma to sit with.
Llama tell you how much I love this girl.
When we first walked up to the hamburger joint, I saw this guy painting the wall but didn't think much of it.
This was the progress he had done while we were there. You would think the people painting the murals would be artsy-fartsy type people, not just some guy with a paintbrush.
