$3.69

My husband makes fun of my new hobby.  But check out what I did with $3.69:
First, here is the infinity scarf.
And the infinity scarf doubled.
Next we have the spaghetti knit scarf.
And the spaghetti knit scarf doubled.
The fringe scarf.
The ruffle scarf.
Last but certainly not least, here is the knit vest.
And that same knit vest-turned scarf.
All that with absolutely no sewing involved.
For $3.69!

Abe wants me to save these pictures so I can laugh at myself a few years from now.
But I think they're growing on him.

Happy 1st Birthday, My Sweet Little Eli!

Good morning, Birthday Boy!
Licking the beater from birthday cake.
Nap time.
Going through Grandpa's recycling.
Celebrating Eli with Grannie.
Celebrating Eli with Grandma and Grandpa.
Celebrating Ei with the DanFam5.
Mommy and her Biggy Boo.
Elijah's new chair.
Everybody getting a piece of the unwrapping action.
Zeke and my birthday cake creation for our Eli.  (I really need to go to my Pinterest boards under 'cleaning' and implement that pin to get this cookie sheet nice and shiny, don't I?)
Double fistin' the birthday cake from the get go.
Mmmm.  Cake.
Lovin' life.
How old are you today, Eli?
That's right.  You're one today.
Now that's how you celebrate a birthday!

I'm Not A Nurse, But I Play One On TV

I almost got to say that for real today.  Almost.

I was called to the set of the new 'Dallas' series to be a nurse.  We even got to go to wardrobe, which was actually a trailer in the parking lot of a medical building.
That was my changing trailer at the end there.  I walked past the stars' trailers (no, I didn't get to see JR, Bobby or Sue Ellen in person but their trailers were there).  Here I am, hanging with my fellow RN pals.  I look pretty nursey, huh?
They had shot a scene earlier in the day, and were wrapping it up.  One minute they were planning on moving the cameras and stuff to our room to shoot, the next thing you know they were sending us home.   Not sure why the scene was canceled.

Last week I was an extra for the reality show 'Big Rich Texas.'  We were sitting at tables in the bar area and supposed to move around in the background.  Our table was by the wall and a potted plant was between the table and the wall, so I had to walk right behind the table where they were filming.  I'm pretty sure my big o' butt got on film;  we'll see if the camera really adds 10 pounds.  :)

That film scene was fun, but it didn't have "Scene 2, take 5.  action!" kind of stuff, nor any movie stars.  And this time I went to wardrobe and I was going to be a nurse!  It was so fun while it lasted...

They are needing extras for the next episode, so we should get called back.  Hopefully I'll be able to make it on the little screen then.  I will let you know if I get on #109 (that's biz talk for season 1, episode 9).

I was so close, ya'll.  So close.

Elijah 'Walker'

It was about a month in the making,  but Elijah Walker is really a walker now---he has mostly given up crawling for good.  That's always a bittersweet moment, but little people are so cute stumbling around that it almost makes me forget my last baby just made a huge leap from not being such a baby anymore.

Cinderella Or Somethin'

Whilst riding to dance class in her new tutu, Daisy proclaimed, "I feel kinda different in this dress.  Like Cinderella or somethin'."
Here are Daisy, Zeke and I at the Wildcat 'pepper ally' as Daisy puts it.  She kept calling her free pom pon her cheerleader.  We let the kids stay up late and watch the game with us.  We went to our bed to watch, and Daisy wondered how all those people were still there since it was bedtime.
At first glance one may think that Daisy is running away from home, but she's merely taking her babies for a walk.
In her words, her babies like to go for walks.  (Even if they are zipped inside a suitcase with 3 other babies.)

Over Already??

I am so sad today is our last day of Christmas break.  I have enjoyed having our Zekers here every day.  Let me give you a few examples why.

One morning I dressed him in wind pants and a t-shirt.  He came out with his dress shoes and tie.  When I told him he could wear tennis shoes with sweat pants he said, "But I want to look handsome."
After watching an episode of Sid the Science Kid on bouncing balls, he was boinging all around my bed.  "Wow, your bed is full of elasticity!"

One night a couple days after Christmas Zeke was praying and told God how much he enjoyed Jesus' birthday.  Next he added, "I like you guys.  I really like both you guys."

We all enjoy having our Zeke at home with us.
And, to be honest, I have another reason for enjoying break.  I am slightly challenged with promptness.  I can't tell you how nice it's been sleeping in, not hitting the gym until 9:30, or 9:35 and not even getting sent to the office to get a tardy.
