Tiptoe Through the Tulips - Suncheon Bay Gardens

The family went to Suncheon Bay Gardens a year ago. It was beautiful. But once was enough for the rest of DanFam5. So when my girlfriends wanted to go see the azaleas I was ready to go.
The azaleas were not quite blooming yet, but the tulips were! Tulips are not native to Korea, so you don't see very many of them. They are one of my favorite flowers, so, bonus!
Suncheon Bay is home to many native hooded cranes; the gardens takes pride in this with their large crane topiary and its extremely large nest, complete with eggs.
This little area is the Korean Traditional Garden.
You see a lot of creeping phlox everywhere in southern South Korea and it is gorgeous.
Taking a load off for a hot minute.
Look how big this tulip is!
The World Garden Zone contains traditional gardens from 11 countries.  This one is Monaco.
Here is China.
We struck a pose in the German garden.
The Mexican garden.
The Dutch garden. My favorite this time of year.
So many tulips!

The Italian garden.
The Turkish Garden.
The Japanese garden.
Another ode to the hooded crane.
Suncheon Lake Park is in the background.
Suncheon Bay Garden is so big I have been here twice and still have not seen everything it has to offer. There will probably be another visit sometime in the future, but next time I will see what a different season has to offer.
The day was topped off at a cute little French café in the arts district with a chef from Monaco who has lived in Korea for many years along with his Filipino wife. Very eclectic with tasty food and friendly service.
