Back In The Saddle - Four Divassas Temple

The Biker Chicks (that's what we call our FB group😜) got back in the saddle for a ride to the Four Divassas Temple. It's only about four miles from the apartment. We've been before, but the spring flowers are too beautiful not to post.

This is a peony flower. I thought they only came in pink. I guess not.
This bloom is a double cherry blossom.
All the Buddhist temples are always painted with these same colors. It actually has a name, dancheong, which means 'cinnabar and blue-green.' The five basic colors have meaning: blue-east, white-west, red-south, black-north, and yellow-center. These five colors represent the yin yang principal. Special artists called dancheongjang paint the buildings and artifacts.
This last one is from the neighboring Daeseongsa Temple. It is a women's-only temple. I don't even know exactly what that means, but that's what one of the lady monks who live there told us.
