Holy Hiking! - IL Cheonwangbong, Waryong Mountain

The IL group was small today because we were tackling a tough hike. I asked about bringing the dogs but they suggested against it because of large rocks. I was thinking that my dogs could handle rocks, but I refrained from bringing them.

The bottom had a fun little rock stacking area.
I found a precious puppy along the way.
At first the hike seemed pretty easy.

Snack break!
Second snack break. It's that tough of a hike, y'all. Not really, not at this point. But we just like to taste each others' snacks.
 Back to business.
As we got higher and steeper, there were ropes to grab on to help you.
Then we had some steps.
Then we had some really big rocks to climb that were near the edge of a steep cliff. Super strong cable was installed to hold on to. The dogs probably could have made it up, but it would have complicated things. It was here that I decided it was a good call on leaving them back.
Whew! Made it up that difficult spot. You can see behind that we're up high, so that cliff beside us was no joke. But we weren't even done yet.
 Wuiheom = danger!
We made it to the top!
Unfortunately the air was not very clear.

back: Trish, YoungSuk, Kate, Alyxis, Mimi
front: Leana, Jenny, Deok Soon
Lunch time! A smorgasbord of Korean food and mostly Costco snacks brought by the Americans.
Now a few pics just cause.
This picture gives some perspective. Six hundred twenty-five meters is pretty high! We look little and the person taking the picture is not much higher than us.
We made it back to the bottom!
