Power Vinjas

Halloween 2014 is in the books.
We first hit a trunk-or-treat on Wednesday.
 ~action shot doing their thing~
Mmm.  Candy.
Mathoween was on Thursday, with a Number Ninja,
a Two-to-the-Third-Power-Ranger, and Count Dracula.
Tonight was the big finale.  Eli started asking me at 8 o'clock this morning why we weren't trick-or-treating since today was Halloween.
When evening finally came, we consisted of
a Pink Power Ranger
 a vampire,
Spiderman,
{This was a list minute decision.  The costume fit about 2 years ago, which is why Spidey looks like he's wearing shorts, but I can't even come up with a good story as to why Spiderman needs a sword.  We'll just say how creative Elijah is and leave it at that.}
a little witch,
 Hello Kitty in a tutu,
and the ALS ice bucket challenge.
Impossible to get everyone to pose simultaneously.
Keeping tradition alive trick-or-treating with The Williams and Co.
Happy Halloween!

'Twas Two Days Before Halloween

'Twas two days before Halloween, and all through the house
Not a creature was carving, not even a mouse.

The treat bags were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that candy soon would be in there.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a knife set, and my children so dear.

They said not a word but went straight to gutting
Took all the stuff out and then began cutting.

They sprang to their feet, put a candle inside.
And away they all ran, quickly to hide.

But I heard them exclaim as the candle shone bright,
"Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good night!"

Life's A Beach!

On our last day of school, June 24th, if you asked me how I like year-round school, I would have said it bites.  This week, October 24th, I'm gonna say it's great!  Fall break is the absolute best part of year-round school and we took full advantage of it.

It took until October, but I finally got my beach in for the year.  It was well worth the wait.  The first day we drove about half way on the way there.  It was getting a bit chilly, but we,
meaning everyone but me, went swimming in the outdoor pool.  #mommadoesn'tdocold
They we so excited to be on vacation, they didn't care that it was 71 degrees outside and the water felt so much colder.

Next on to the real vacay!
We made sand castles,  a mermaid, a shark, and a turtle.
Cannonball!  We worked on many variations, including the pencil, can opener, Empire State Building, all around the world, log roll, mouse eating cheese roll,  dopey guy walking into the pool,  star, and the Statue of Liberty.
We went crab hunting at night.  Zeke and I stayed out longer than the rest.  We shared many good laughs.  Here he is re-enacting the scene when he was trying to climb the sand wall to get away from the waves and he kept slipping, finally yelling in desperation, "Get me up!" as I was uncontrollably belly laughing.
We went Geocaching along the beach and found 2 caches.
Daddy watching Zeke and I swim from the condo, while Daisy is watching us from the shore.
When we went crab hunting at night we talked to another couple from Texas who were fishing.    The night before we left they caught a 3-foot black tipped reef shark.  Didn't exactly make us feel good, but we told the kids the sharks only come out at night, which was mostly true.  Probably.
 Picture time!
Oh, Pensacola, how I love you.
