Say It's Your Birthday!

Today is my Daisy's day!
I am being a little selfish here, but it kinda hurts that my second child now has to use 2 hands to show how old she is.
This is the spontaneous girl who will be deep in conversation and doesn't have a choice but to switch gears in mid-sentence and bust out in song when she hears something good come on.  The happy one who has to dance to any type of music.  The tender-hearted one who blurted out, "Oh my gosh.  That car just ran over a squirrel," and immediately began crying.
This little girl of mine is the whole package.  She is smart, caring, silly, kind unless you cross her and then she's a force to be reckoned with, beautiful with her Daddy's stunning blue eyes, artistic.  But most of all she has an unwavering faith and a heart for Jesus, which is the most important part.   The rest is just icing on the cake.
Speaking of cake…
Happy 6th birthday, Daisy!

Daddy Loves You

My little Lijee is such a boy.  He's all about cars and trains, and frogs and snails and puppy dog tails and all those things that little boys are made of.  But he also likes to play with his sister, and they usually end up playing her games.  And he's OK with that.

One day I overhead them playing barbies.  He had Ken and Daisy had Barbie.  "Hi, Darlin'. Hold my hand, Darlin'.  Let's go now, Darlin'."  What's even cuter about that is that Abe never calls me Darlin'.  I have no idea where he got that from.
When Eli plays babies he is a strict participant in method acting.  He is adamant that he be called Dad, Daisy is called Mom, I am Grandma and Abe is Grandpa.  In real life when I tuck the kids in bed at night I always whisper in their ear, "Mommy loves you."  Each of them comes back with their own unique response which never changes.  Last week as I was playing the role of Grandma, he took my grandchild from me and went into his room.  He came back and told me he whispered to his baby, "Daddy loves you," and put it to sleep in the crib. {heart}  Such a sweet little daddy.

Donkey Tales

What a natural!  Daisy performed in her very first musical and she was fantastic!  MusicPraise, which is a group of K-4th grade students from church, has been practicing all semester.  Donkey Tales is about some kids visiting Tex's Donkey Dude Ranch and learning about how donkeys are talked about all throughout the bible.

Since it was Daisy's first year she did not get to audition for a special part, although she wanted to very badly.  However, my little entertainer rocked all the motions when she was supposed to and sat still at the appropriate times.  And she enjoyed herself.

A few pre-show pics…
And the performance.
She's center-stage, front row.
This Mommy is very proud of the Daiser.
