You know how my husband takes his regular trips to the ER? His youngest is becoming a wounded warrior, as well.
People warned us of the evil trampoline and all the accidents that will accompany it. Tonight all 3 kids were running around the outside of the net and Eli took a head dive off.
There were a few tears as he came inside. After a minute of snuggling I checked out the back of his head. Sure enough, there was blood back there, along with a big ole gash. Of course this occurred on Sunday evening at 5:00. Why do they always need the doctor on the weekend?
We went to a pediatric urgent care place. We were in and out within an hour. Little man quit crying about 5 minutes after it happened. Not another tear was shed. They cleaned it and he winced a tiny bit. They gave him some numbing stuff, then injected a local. The doctor had to insert the needle several times inside the cut, and my brave little warrior quietly and calmly whispered "Ow" once. Then he got 2 staples that had to be taken out and redone, followed up with 7 staples. No crying, no kicking or thrashing about. He just sat there and took it like a man.

Afterwards I showed him the picture. He was quite puzzled as he asked, "Whaaat?"
post script: Eli asks to look at the picture of the hole in his head. Then he laughs at it.
Such a boy.

Oh, my goodness! Poor Eli! I'm so sorry. What a trooper! I hope he heals up quickly.
