DanFamTrifecta

Picture time!  And no, I am not above bribing my children with ice cream.  And yes, I was bummed that Eli is too little to understand bribery.  He cooperated for the first pose and the first pose only.

Night and Day (And Swimming)

Just finished up another year of swimming lessons.  As always, Zeke absolutely loved them.  He is beginning to actually swim.
Elijah takes after his older brother and he couldn't get enough of the water.  He is Mr. Independent and sometimes gets totally submerged, but keeps on going without missing a beat.  He was very upset that he did not get a turn on the diving board.
I don't want to rehash hard feelings, but last year Daisy and I had it out over her swimming lessons;  I nearly killed that girl.  Several times.  This year I am so pleased to say was like night and day.  She jumped right in, did all the drills, walked over to her teacher, put her head underwater and jumped off the board multiple times.  I am so proud of her!

Hi-Yah!

Yellow belt in the howwwse!

He did it!
patiently waiting
In addition to all that brawn (all 37 pounds, eat your hearts out ladies), my boy has a sensitive side.  They did jump rope for heart at school.  I read a little card about a success story.  This little girl had heart transplants at 13 months and again at 6 years.  I got a little choked up thinking about the donor families of such little babies.  The kids asked why and when I explained, Zeke silently disappeared.  I found him in tears in his room, unconsolable because those little kids had died.  The tears lasted for at least 30 minutes and I couldn't say anything to make him feel better.  Sweet little thing.

The Graduate

I can't believe my boy has graduated kindergarten.
Here's the first day of school
and the last day.
Zeke enjoyed his first year with the Waverly Park Tigers.
The morning of graduation started with an absolute downpour as we ran into school.  The only part of me that was dry (all the way down to my undergarments) was my side where I was carrying Eli.  Good as new after drying off under the hand dryer.
Here's our little guy shaking hands with the principal.
"Kindergarten promotion--check."
The DanFam5, a little soggy.
Thanks to Mrs. Gilder for a great year!
We surprised Zeke by showing up in our swimsuits today and we went straight from school to the splash pad to celebrate the beginning of summer.
Schoooool's.  Out.  For.  Summah!
