Get Out The Butter Knife

It's that time of year when we bust out the sharp knives and pointy tools and try to keep the kids' hands off them as we commence sawing away at that thick pumpkin skin, trying in vain to make something creative and artsy.

I had been building up the pumpkin carving day to the kids.  When we got home, I heard Zeke go out the door, assuming it was the back door.  About 5 minutes later we found him.  He was on the front porch, butter knife in hand, working away.  At least he was being self-sufficient by grabbing the only knife he is allowed to get.
Daisy does not like to get her hands dirty with the pumpkin guts.  This is the extent of her hands-on work.
The Little Guy couldn't get there fast enough for his liking.
And now for the ewy-gooey stuff.
Guess it's a boy thing.
"May as well taste it while I'm at it."
I love the way Eli's looking up at his Daddy here.
The finished product.
It's hard getting 3 kids' attention at the same time...
Random family shot.  This is a sample of our daily life.
 Happy Halloween!
